An investigation was underway into the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Compton Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of East Queensdale Street (map) at around 12:35 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, a news release from the Sheriff’s Department stated.
Homicide detectives were investigating the shooting in the afternoon hours, and no further information was immediately available.
